Vins de Sancerre AOC - Domaine Bernard Reverdy & Fils

The Sancerre vineyards are located in the centre of France, on the left bank of the Loire, 200km south of Paris. They extend over nearly 2800 hectares split over 14 district areas. The quality of the white wines from the Sauvignon Blanc grape was recognized by the award of appellation contrôlée status in 1936. The red and rosé wines made from Pinot Noir gained A.O.C status in 1959.
In 2009, in order to protect and build the reputation of their wines, the region's winemakers put in place a new system to develop the A.O.C. reinforcing the specifications that set out the production conditions for Sancerre wines.
